Split Rock Jumping Tour Announces Partnership with University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Foundation

Lexington, KY – January 19, 2015 – The Split Rock Jumping Tour, a new international show jumping series making its debut in 2015 in Lexington, Kentucky, the “Horse Capital of the World,” is excited to announce a partnership with the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Foundation. A portion of proceeds from all sales of Split Rock Jumping Tour Hospitality packages will go directly to the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Foundation to support their programs.

“We are thrilled to help support the local community and such an important charity as Markey,” said Derek Braun, Founder and President of the Split Rock Jumping Tour. “I personally experienced first-hand the wonderful care they give to patients and the fantastic support they provide to families and loved ones. The staff at the Markey Cancer Center is truly amazing, and we look forward to helping raise awareness and funds to support their programs.”

The Split Rock Jumping Tour is set to revolutionize the way horse shows are presented in the United States with two international show jumping events in 2015 that will provide competitors, sponsors and spectators with an “Unparalleled Show Jumping Experience.” The Tour’s Lexington International will take place May 22-24, followed by the Bourbon International, October 9-11. Both events will take place at Split Rock Farm in Lexington, KY, and are sanctioned by the International Equestrian Federation ( FEI) as 3* international competitions offering top prize money to competitors coming from across the nation and beyond.

In addition to raising funds for the UK Markey Cancer Foundation, Split Rock will also provide staff and patients of the Center with free tickets to attend both horse shows. Visibility and on-site promotion of the Center and the Foundation will also be provided.

“Markey is so thankful for the Brauns’ generosity over the years,” said Stephanie Herron, CEO of the Markey Cancer Foundation. “The Braun Family’s commitment to both equestrian sport and the Lexington community is not only impressive but impactful, and his creation of what will be one of North America’s premier show jumping events only further solidifies that commitment. The UK Markey Cancer Foundation is proud to be chosen as the charitable partner for the Split Rock Jumping Tour.”

Split Rock Jumping Tour Hospitality packages will include numerous first-class amenities such as private ringside hospitality tables with stunning views of The Rock Jumping Field. The rustically elegant setting will provide ideal networking opportunities along with top-of-the line dining provided by Apiary Fine Catering. Tables and tickets for each Saturday evening’s Gala at The Rock, lounge seating, music, dancing, access to the VIP Spa Indulge Zone, and exclusive boutique shopping will enhance the hospitality experience.

“Hospitality at our events will be unlike any what you find at other horse shows and will make for a truly unforgettable experience,” said Braun. “We hope that everyone will support the UK Markey Cancer Foundation by purchasing a VIP Hospitality package for either or both of our events. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be glad they did!”
